White kitchens with white marble countertops continue to be incredibly popular, and this isn’t a trend that seems to be going anywhere, but white marble is so beautiful and versatile that I wanted to round up some photos that show off marbles like Calacatta Gold and Carrara in kitchens with other interesting and contrasting finishes like bold wallpaper and shiny or colorful cabinets.
We fabricated and installed this Calacatta Gold Marble kitchen designed by Cody Beal that is featured in Utah Style and Design Magazine this month. You should definitely pick up the current issue to see so much more of this and other projects that we have worked on, but in the meantime, take a look at how the 3 inch mitered apron edge on the marble island makes the piece feel large, sturdy, and sort of industrial atop the shiny stainless steel base cabinet. The Calacatta is repeated in subway tile in the backsplash areas, but the cabinets and countertops along the perimeter provide perfect contrast to both the white and the metal.
This kitchen looks fun and chic at the same time. Mixing finishes can become busy very quickly, but here it’s done in a very simple and classic way. The center island in dark wood with the blue painted perimeter cabinets and the linear glass tile backsplash are all grounded by Carrara marble slab countertops.
Calacatta Gold Polished marble on a glossy black painted island is the centerpiece of this kitchen by AKDO (link to www.akdo.com) The perimeter countertops are also marble, but in a switch-up that we don’t see often, they’ve used Crema Marfil marble on kitchen countertops, and it works really well.
We at European Marble and Granite install white marble like these in the Salt Lake City (Utah), Park City (Utah), Vail (Colorado), Sun Valley( Idaho), and Jackson Hole (Wyoming) areas.
